As DC Ed Fund reflects on the past year and enters our eleventh season as DC Public Schools’ (DCPS) closest philanthropic partner, we step forward reaffirming three promises to the school communities we serve and to our funders who make this work possible: 1) we remain committed to DCPS, and creating change through innovation; 2) we bridge public and private investments with great accountability; and 3) equity is our north star in all that we do.

Today, DC Ed Fund is proud to release our 2018 Annual Report. The stories we highlight illustrate our commitment to investing in ideas that disrupt the regular way of doing things, to ensure a stronger future for kids. In the last decade, Ed Fund raised and funded more than $120 million towards innovative solutions that have collectively been game changers for students and families. And we have no intentions of slowing down. FY18 was a year of change and transition for DCPS and we are thrilled to support two innovative start-ups: Bard High School Early College and the DC Reading Clinic, which will both launch in 2019. Our report also spotlights past Standing Ovation winners who have leveraged their awards to drive excellence for all kids.

Our 10-year history and success would not be possible without Ed Fund’s supporters. We are grateful for the steadfast commitment of our donors who stand by us and DC Public Schools. Thank you for your trust and partnership as we enter the next decade of innovation.

With gratitude,

Mark Ein, Chairman
